Structure


GENERAL ASSEMBLY
is the highest directing body of the Academy which is formed by all full members of the Estonian Academy of Sciences. The General Assembly meets ordinarily twice a year.

BOARD
is the collegial directing body of the Academy in between the General Assembly meetings. The Board includes the President, Vice Presidents,Secretary General, Heads of Divisions and nonexecutive members.

DIVISIONS
unite the full and foreign members of a particular scientific field and the institutions of the Academy in cooperation with other R&D institutions and learned societies of the same scientific field. The Academy has four divisions: Division of Astronomy and Physics; Division of Informatics and Engineering; Division of Biology, Geology and Chemistry; Division of Humanities and Social Sciences.

INSTITUTIONS
The Academy may create institutions which have their own budget, bank account, the functions and bases of operation of which are established in the statutes of the institution. The Academy has two institutions:

Estonian Academy Publishers

OFFICE
organises the administration as well as financial and other activities of the Academy according to the resolutions of the General Assembly and the Board. The Office operates under the direction of the Secretary-General according to the rulings approved by the Board.
